Food Hunting in Ipoh Part 3

The next morning, we went to the Foh San Dim Sum located at Jalan Leong Sin Nam, which is directly beside the Excelsior Hotel. True enough, the environment in Foh San is of what I've heard before, simply cantik! Love the ambience in the restaurant, definitely much much better than those dim sum shops in melaka which are normally so crowded with people that you can hardly breathe. As for Foh San, there is a very good air ventilation system in it that i don't feel dizzy at all eventhough it is full with people.

Look, there were so many people standing and waiting for tables! However, thanks to my mom's excellent PR skill, we managed to get a table without needing to wait for too long! hehe.. :p

I don't know what this is called, but it is my favourite in Foh San! Simply refreshing, and i don't think we can get this in Melaka. It has cucumber, chicken floss and also walnuts in it, no idea what is the green color sauce made of, it is sweet but not too sweet, delicious~ yum yum..love it!

As for the other dim sums, mostly are nice, though not surprisingly nice, nor extremely better than those in Melaka. I still prefer some of it like the siew mai and char siew bao in my hometown. Well, it is just personal preferences, no offence ya! :) I've also read in some blogs about how big and how delicious the prawn dumplings (har gaw) in Foh San are, and i was really looking forward to eat it when i was there, i kept asking my dad to order the prawn dumplings and kept telling him that how nice it was going to taste! The prawn dumplings are indeed big in size, with 3 big prawns in it. The prawns are juicy and succulent, but to my surprise, it was tasteless! What a disappointment! Anyway, I hope it gets better the next time i return to Foh San. :)

12.30pm, we checked out of the hotel rooms and before we went to Kek Lok Tong, we stopped by Jalan Theatre to buy my favourite Aun Kheng Lim's Salted Chicken.

Then we walked a short distance to the Funny Mountain to try the 'best tau fu fah in Malaysia'! Indeed, the tau fu fah is so smooth and so delicious~ slurppss...i want more! hehe.. Even my mom, who grew up in a tau fu fah family (my grandparents sold tau fu fah for a living) also agree that their tau fu fah is indeed very nice~ So if any of you are coming to Ipoh, don't forget to stop by Funny Mountain and try a small bowl of their tau fu fah, they even have their very own drive-thru service so that you can eat the tau fu fah while enjoying the air-cond in your car... :)

At around 2.30pm, we reached Kek Lok Tong and had some photo shooting sessions over there and that marked the end of our Ipoh trip.

Dad said that we may go for another trip during CNY in February, and that we can choose between Siem Reap or Kota Kinabalu, yoohoo~~ XD XD XD

P/S: This trip was great and i enjoyed it so much with my family, but the consequences was that i had to lie on my bed and rested for 3 days due to fever, cough and flu. *sob sob... probably because of the lack of rest and lack of water due to frequent travelling... :(
